Have you ever met someone with naturally, glowing skin and think...
but how?!

Having healthy, glowing skin is not just a matter of genetics; it's also a reflection of the habits and routines you incorporate into your daily life. There are certain habits that people with healthy skin tend to have in common.

Nothing complicated - you know I am a fan of keeping things simple!

My top 4 habits for great skin include:

1. Balanced Diet

Ever heard the saying “you are what you eat?” This has never been more true when it comes to your skin! A person’s skin can be an exceptional indicator of the food they consume on a daily basis.

Vitamins like A, C, and E are known to support collagen production, fight oxidative stress, and promote even skin tone.

If you have an intolerance - you may need to stop breaking the rules. For example - if you are intolerant to dairy and continue to eat it, those toxins are going to show somewhere and it's often on your skin.

Those with healthy-looking and glowing skin are opting for antioxidant-rich foods filled with nutrients, rather than those containing a high sugar count or artificial ingredients.

When it comes to diet, steer clear of packaged foods, and instead, eat natural REAL foods and fill your plate with the colours of the rainbow... vegetables, fruit, lean proteins, wholegrains, nuts and seeds.

2. Hydration

Water, water, water! Hydration has never been more important when it comes to your skin. Drinking a minimum of 8 glasses a day (roughly), can assist with flushing out toxins and improving your skin’s tone.

Staying hydrated can also improve elasticity, keeping skin feeling moisturised and refreshed. If you are dehydrated, your skin is definitely going to show it!

Drinking two glasses as soon as you get up in the morning is a great way to kick-start your hydration for the day.

3. Regular skincare routine, no matter how simple it is

Dirt, oil, and environmental impacts can all play a part in the way your skin looks and feels. These factors can ultimately clog pores, cause breakouts, tightness, dehydration and several other issues.

Therefore, cleansing and moisturising daily and adding in your exfoliant twice a week will improve your skin beautifully.

This is where Seven Islands Skincare can come to the rescue! Adopting a simple skincare routine, suitable for your skin type can make an immense difference in a short amount of time. Make this your daily ritual and enjoy a bit of essential self-care!

4. Sleep

Trust me when I say beauty sleep is a real thing! Getting the right amount of sleep each night is essential for the body’s repair process. While you snooze, your body boosts the blood flow to your skin, leaving you with a healthy glow the next morning. This is because your blood is bringing fresh oxygen and nutrients to your skin cells, and carrying toxins away.

Lack of sleep combined with chronic stress can trigger inflammation, leading to skin issues like acne and eczema.

If you aren't getting enough sleep, this can absolutely contribute to the way your skin feels and looks. Early night anyone?!

If your goal is to have healthy, glowing skin, try adopting the above habits and simply watch the magic happen.

Take care of your skin, and give it the love it deserves! Let me know if you have any questions or concerns, always happy to help.
